FAQs
What should I expect from my first session?
Our first session, or two, will focus on assessing your needs and your concerns. We will initially ask you a series of questions to gain an understanding of your history and your current reason for seeking counseling. During our first or second session, we may administer a questionnaire to understand what needs are not being met and how those unmet needs impact your life.
How often do you meet with your clients?
The frequency and duration of therapy vary and depend on several factors. Most clients meet with Dr. Beverly Wright once per week or every other week for a couple of months. Ensuing appointments are typically less frequent. Therapy usually ends as new skills are effectively implemented, symptoms are reduced, and occurrences are manageable. Clients are always welcome to schedule appointments on an “as-needed” basis.
Do you only counsel Christians?
No. While Dr. Beverly Wright is a Christian, her services are faith-based or faith-integrated. Faith is a powerful resource in helping people manage challenges, so she does not impose her own religious beliefs on clients. She respects the religious faith of each client and will work to integrate the client’s beliefs into the counseling process. She appreciates and embraces persons of all faiths.
What is your cancellation policy?
We agree to and ask that clients maintain responsible relations regarding appointment times. In that regard, we require a 24-hour cancellation notice. Appointments canceled in less than 24 hours will be charged their full session fee.
